Analyze And Implementation Of The Ranap Protocol Of Td-scdma

With developing to the third generation(3G), the network of mobile communication has to support more user terminal access and network devices so as to offer users more convenient access methods and variety of services. To cope with this change, there are new requirements to the access method and interface protocol. At same time, considering the integration of different networks and the developing of access network and core network themselves, it is urgent in need of new generation of ATM/IP loaded interface protocol. Therefore RANAP(Radio Access Network Application Part) protocol was launched by 3GPP.The author was responsible for the design and development of RANAP protocol. After systematic analysis of UTRAN and core network system structure, he focused on the research in RANAP protocol and relevant technology. The author participated the system planing and module design of RANAP protocol based on pre-stage research. Following this plan,the author developed the module function, module interface, interactive process and detailed implementation plan. At last, he built up the emulation testing environment and tested the message of RANAP protocol.This article gives a brief introduction about RANAP protocol at the beginning. Then the protocol system is divided into several separate function modules and each module is illustrated in detail in terms of logical function, implementation of model, logical relationship and data structure, etc. The final part of this article explains the structure of emulation system and the functions of relevant devices. The emulation results are provided in the end.The results from this research have been successfully used in the design and development of TD-SCDMA deivce in Datang Telecom Technology Co. Ltd. This device has been tested strictly and the results showed it is satisfied to the requirement of clients in both function and quality.
