With the development of the living standard of the people and the increasing deterioration of the environment, the indoor air pollution is getting more and more serious, which can destroy the living environment and harm people's health directly. So how the indoor air could be purified efficiently has been attracted by a lot of people, also been a very important research subject in the environment protection.In this paper a new air purifier is researched and designed which can provide an answer to purify the indoor air and provide continuously fresh air. The hardware and software design, applied in this new air purifier control system which can kill the bacteria by ultraviolet radiation, program implement and the analysis of key program is discussed in the paper.The control system for this new air purifier is designed and developed based on the ATmega128 core processors of AVR microcontroller which is form Atmel Corporation. According to the standard of the microcontroller development, the overall design plan for hardware and software is created based on the analysis of system functional requirement. Detailed design method and solution for each function module of the system are discussed by way of modularization design technology. And relative principle, algorithm and key program are illustrated in detail. The design and implement of initialization module, display module, keyboard module, data acquisition and processing module, time processing module, buzzer driver module, motor driver module, ultraviolet lamp driver module, power control module and infrared remote-controller are the key contents in the paper. The control system will make this new air purifier achieve the requirement of environment protection, energy saving, intelligent and humanization, and the research will do important contribution to the indoor air pollution control and development of air purifying technology.
