Objective:To investigate the status of the qulity of life and its factors of nurses in XinJiang Production﹠ Construction Group and to provide evidence for formulating policies to improve their qulity of life.Methods:Across-sectional study was applied for this purpose. 610 nurses were investigated via stratified sampling with a self-designed questionnaire and World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL-100).The quality of Iife of nures who are working at 23 hospitals were invsetigated from November of 2007 to May of 2008.Epidata3.02 software was used as database and SPSS13.0 software was taken for both descriptive analysis and inferentive analysis involved in single factor and multi-factors analysis.Results:610 complete and effective questionnaires were returned and answering rate was 87.1%.The mean scores in all domains of QOL of nurses in XinJiang Production﹠Construction Group were 12.43±1.00(Physical),12.81±1.50 (Physiological),13.11±1.55 (social relations),14.52±1.57(Level of Independ),11.81±1.44(Enviroment ),11.57±2.79(Spirit),13.28±2.66(overall).The mean score of Physiological,Physiological,social relations,Level of Independ were lower than the normal ranges,Spirit was higher than normal ranges,statistically significant differences were found for these score(P<0.001).No statistically significant differences were found for the other score(P>0.05).Based on multiple linear regression analysis,The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Physical domain were workplace violence,disease history,appetite,age.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Psychological domain were sleep quality,job satisfaction,monthly incomes, workplace violence,educational background,attitude of shift schedule, levels of hospitals.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Level of Independ were levels of hospitals,interpersonal relationship , attitude of shift schedule, Social status, marriage history,family dispute,job satisfaction. The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Social relations domain were sleep quality, appetite,monthly income,job satisfaction,workplace violence,family dispute.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Enviroment domain were sleep quality,appetite,job satisfaction,monthly income,workplace violence,attitude of shift schedule,family dispute,Social Status,disease history.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Spirit domain were appetite,job satisfaction,sleep quality,level of hospital.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with Overall domain were workplace violence,job satisfaction,appetite,sleep quality,monthly income,family dispute,attitude of shift schedule. Conclusion:The status of QOL of nurses in XinJiang Production﹠Construction Group was inadequate.Age, marriage history,educational background,disease history,sleep quality,monthly income,level of hospital, Social Status,workplace violence,interpersonal relationship,job satisfaction,attitude of shift schedule, family dispute,appetite were the mainly affecting factors. effective measures should be taken to improve and enhance the QOL of nurses.
