Clinical Efficacy Of Modified Astragalus Decoction In Improving The Defaecation And Its Quality For Those Patients With Chronic Functional Constipation (cfc) Of Qi Deficiency And Blood Stasis.

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Modified Astragalus Decoction in improving the defaecation and its quality for those patients with Chronic functional constipation (CFC) of Qi deficiency and blood stasis.Methods:The collected 64 patients with Chronic functional constipation (CFC) of Qi deficiency and blood stasis were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The treatment group have 34 patients while control group 30 cases. Based on the general treatment,The treatment group treated with the Modified Astragalus Decoction and the control group with Liuwei Anxiao capsule. The whole courses were 4 weeks and the post-treatment follow-up would be in the next month. The clinical effect of 64 patients were evaluated by observing the total effective rate and the changes of the improvement of symptoms and colonic transmission function and the safety of the drug before and after treatment.Results:(1) The total effective rate of treatment group is 94.1%,while the control group is 86.6%.there was a significant difference (P<0.05)by statistical analysis between treatment group and control group. When the course of CFC over 5 years or the age over 50 years, the treatment group have more pronounced effect than the control group (P<0.05). (2) treatment group and control group can improve effectively the total symptom score and the primary and secondary single symptom score,while the treatment group is more effective than the control group (P<0.05). The treatment group was significantly higher than the control group on the loss rate of the time of interval defecation, defecation effort level and sodium food situation. (3)The treatment group can more improve the patients'colonic transmission function than the control group(P<0.05).(4)The effective patients were asked to be post-treatment follow-up,and found out the recurrence rates of the treatment group was 13.3% while the control group was 36.0%. Treatment group was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05). (5) There is no adverse reactions or security incident during using The Modified Astragalus Decoction.Conclusion:Modified Astragalus Decoction has significant therapeutic effect and good safety on functional constipation of Qi deficiency and blood stasis, which is a safe and effective medicines for preventing and treating Chronic functional constipation.
