Building Renovation Design In China's Urban Renewal

Urban construction is developing rapidly in China ever since Reform and opening-up, mainly characterized in the increasing demand and the requirement of different architectural styles. Urban construction in China has come in to the step of re-development with a background of urban renewal after 20 years'development, especially after the 21st century, which supplying opportunities for rebuilding. Thus, this dissertation, based on the existing theories and practices, summarizes the rebuilding styles for the purposes of unifying historical styles, reuse of old buildings and improvement of living environment. Then it analyses the main content and design elements of the three kinds of rebuilding from the prospective of how to protect historical and cultural cities and make creativities in modern architecture design, etc.This dissertation consists of an introduction, a text, and a conclusion. In the first chapter, it introduces the research background and basis, purpose and magnificence, content and scope, as well as the state at home and abroad of rebuilding. The second chapter introduces some concepts and theories related to architectural rebuilding from the point view of macro urban renewal, rebuilding of old districts to micro rebuilding.Chapter three to chapter five is the text of this dissertation, which introduce the rebuilding design of traditional buildings in the streets, reuse and expansion of old buildings.In chapter three, first it introduces the classification, definition and present state of traditional streets; then it takes the rebuilding of the roof and the side in the streets as an example to analyze the rebuilding design in the streets.In chapter four, it first discusses loft, expounding the definition, classification and characteristics of rebuilding and reuse of old buildings; then it analyses the phenomenon of rebuilding design for the reuse of old buildings and its application of methods in China based on the practices of artists and architects; in addition, it also analyses landscape architectural design of the reuse of industrial abandoned land with the rebuilding of Zhong Shan Park.In chapter five, with architectural expansion as the main content, it analyzes how to optimize the function and renew the outlook in the process of rebuilding and expending the historical together with the ordinary buildings.Chapter six is the conclusion, in which it concludes the practical effect and magnificence of rebuilding, lists the analysis of the similarities and differences of the three styles of rebuilding, and then finds out the common principle; at last, it takes a long view of the developing tendency of rebuilding.
