| Cooperating design, as the combine of the CAD and CSCW, can shorten products' made-time effectively, fully utilize the strange resource, reduce products' design cost,etc, and this research has being done thoughly for years. But, in the field of the cooperating design, especially the long-range cooperating design, the coordination effect is still not ideal. One representative phenomenon is that the communication between cooperating designers is not direct and convienent just like in real environment under network. With the development of computer technology, the multimedia's applies (include audio, video, whiteboard etc) cause people's attention more and more, and multimedia's application has done great effection on long-range coordination design.In order to make the long-range cooperating design system support the cooperating design activities much better, solve the conmunication problem between different design systems, this paper does some research work on how to realize the communication tools, such as video, whiteboard etc, in a long-range coordination design system.For the needs of the long-range coordination design systems, at the same time, considering the synchronicity of the tools and the amount of the develop work, according to the principle of develop and integrate, we use Visual C++ as an implement, fully utilize the COM technology, we put up the method that through the NetMeeting's second develop and rebuild the NetMeeting's COM modules to realize interactive tools, making coordination designers can use audio, video, whiteboard to communicate.The multimedia-based coordination design system developed in this paper has five main composes: whiteboard,chat, file transmission, application shared, audio and video etc, they complement each other in the process of entire coordination, and the cooperating resulte is effective.Finally, this paper complete one cooperating design example through this interactive tool, thereby, verified this method's validity. |
