Quanzhou City Space Morphological Study

The historical city Quanzhou beginning constructs in the A. D. 770, has been through repeatedly the millennium vicissitudes. From constructs at first when the square shape inner city expands to the Luo city and to outer city, two times brings into the city scope with the temple, but formed the Quanzhou city wall to take the form of the carp, and it is being called the carp city. However, the old city spatial Morphology is dynamic, in Republic of China's new city movement, take constructed Zhongshan Road to change the old city original space shape as model civic improvement. After new China had been established, in the new turn of urban construction, the ancient city wall is demolished, generation by broad urban road.The last century 80's, the Quanzhou old city faced with the old city renewal and the transportation construction two aspects influences, several hundred years relatively stable old cities spaces shape is suffering the great change, has the adverse effect to the old city sustainable development.
