| The development of urban fringe residential districts is the major motivation and form for the growth of Chinese cities. For the understanding and controlling of metropolises development, the research on extension type, extension dynamic mechanism, space organizational model and planning strategy are of great value.The thesis, taking the development and features of urban fringe residential districts in Suzhou since reform and opening-up as a case, on the basis of analyzing the existing problems and current situation, focuses on the analyzing of the relationships between different types of residential districts and the residential population, presents the"cluster development"space organizational models of urban fringe residential districts in Suzhou and corresponding development strategy.The paper can be divided into four parts: the first part mainly elaborates the background and significance and researching ways of the selected topic, and introduces the basic researching methods and relative concepts. It observes the practical and theoretical research on domestic and foreign urban fringe residential districts in two ways: the theories of location selection on individual house purchase abroad and government residential planning construction. It makes the conclusion from four aspects: domestic suburbanization and residence suburbanization, space evolvement and organization of urban fringe residential districts, the planning and development of residential districts, and the construction and management of suburban residential districts.The second part analyzes the current development of urban fringe residential districts in Suzhou. It covers two sections: the summary of the main features and current problems since 1990's, the dynamic mechanism of the development due to suburbanization and urbanization; on this basis, to judge the potential trends for the current urban fringe residential districts in Suzhou.In the third part, it divides the urban fringe residential districts into market type and policy type. From the aspects of census register, regional identity and financial foundation, it classifies social group of urban fringe residential districts into high-end residential type and other five types, forming corresponding high-end villa type and other five fringe residential types, then accurately analyzes the different features and problems according to the residential districts and groups.In the last part, based on the experience of the residential space organizational models of urban fringe in domestic and foreign metropolises, the paper respectively presents models and strategies from three aspects. From macro aspect of regional cities, it presents restricted expanding-clustering-internetize system-vivacious space development model. At intermediate level of urban fringe cluster, from"function and space","social and space","time and pace"relationships, it presents composite compact development pattern,organic mixed development pattern,well-ordered growing development pattern which are suitable for integrated model on cluster inner space and function. On the basis of micro aspect of different types of residential districts of the urban fringe, this paper presents the improvement strategy for"connotation"of commercial house residential districts and optimization strategy for"integration"of policy residential district. |
