Nowadays, crane in modern production process is used more and more widely, the role is also bigger, crane's technical level has entered a new stage of development. But for the side-suspended trolley which hangs on the side of double-girder overhead traveling crane, its design is relatively single and still staying in the traditional level, less using modern CAE methods. Therefore, it is necessary to use finite element method and dynamics analysis for the design and analysis of this side-suspended trolley.In reference to the design scheme of the trolley on single-girder overhead traveling crane and gantry crane, the overall structure scheme for the side-suspended trolley hanging on double-girder overhead traveling crane and the layout scheme of lifting and traveling mechanism are determined, also, the theoretical calculation and check method are summarized; by the working condition of this trolley, the load combination and calculation methods under most unfavorable conditions are determined; through SolidWorks software, the three-dimensional entity model of the trolley frame is established; using finite element analysis software—ANSYS to analyze and calculate the model, then, its structure stress and deformation is obtained; according to this result, improved methods are proposed, then, the improved structure which is more reasonable and more economical is verified over analyzing and calculating. Thus, it presents a static finite element analysis method for the trolley with similar structure.After static analysis of the frame, the paper uses dynamics simulation software—ADAMS to analyze the trolley with soft coupling kinematics simulation, and the dynamic load curve is output; according to the curve, that maximum value is loaded to the frame; by the analysis of ANSYS software, it realizes the trolley structure's dynamics analysis work which is based on the kinematics simulation results, also, explores and establishes a dynamics analysis method for this trolley.
