If we want to inspect the state of the spread of mathematics in the end of Qing Dnasty, the mathematical school exercise can not be overlooked. Through we research the mathematical school exercise. On the one hand ,we know the achievements of mathematics in the end of Qing Dynasty. On the other hand ,we know the state of the spread of mathematics. Long Cheng Mathematical School Exercise (龙城书院课艺) reflects the condition and methed of speading mathematics in the special from 1896 to 1901 in the late of Qing Dynasty. This paper mainly discusses the role in the spread of mathematics and the achievement of mathematics in the end of Qing Dynasty, by stadies of the Long Cheng Mathematical School Exercise and Hua Shifang (华世芳) .Hua Shifang(1854-1905 year), wo was born in Jiangsu Province, anther name was Ruoxi(若溪), was one of the prominent mathematicians in the late Qing Dynasty. His mathematical books included Henghe Shaguan Suancao('河沙馆算草) and Long Cheng Mathematical School Exercise.The main jobs of the paper are as follows.Firstly, Hua Shifang's biographical note is collected and sorted out.Secondly, the paper studies the Long Cheng Mathematical School Exercise in detail, especially in the questions of Calculus and Progression, and evaluates Hua Shifang' achievements.Finally, comparing with other mathematical exercise, the paper infects the background of the late Qing Dynasty.
