Recently, with the flourishment of retail industry in China, it starts to play an important role in the social economic distribution and makes great contribution to the national economy. The war for talent between retail enterprises is increasingly fierce, so taking efficient human resource management steps to attract, culture, retain and develop talents is becoming the key point for retail enterprises to win. Incentive, as the most important and core function in human resource management, is very important to the survival and development of retail enterprises. However, China's retail enterprises currently generally lack of effective incentive mechanism. This paper takes company A as an example, and studies its incentive mechanism using the research method combined of theoretical studies and actual case analysis. The reason why company A has a high quit rate, lacks of talents and low activity of employees is that it doesn't have an effective incentive mechanism. This paper focuses on the present situation and defects of company A's incentive, and brings out a people oriented construction plan of incentive mechanism based on some incentive theories such as Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, two-factor theory, expectancy theory. This paper insists that company A's incentive mechanism involves three aspects: Performance appraisal and pay and benefits, staff training and promotion, corporate culture. At last, this paper brings out detailed incentive measures about the three aspects, hoping to guide company A to solve the problems in incentive and for reference to other retail enterprises.
