The folk sports as a cross-industry of tourism and sports have become a hot topic and a bright spot. Based on the current development trend, the study analysis the inadequate information and current status of folk sports tourism. Using literature, expert interviews, questionnaire, Delphi method, market research, this paper researched the development of folk sports tourism in Shandong Province in three parts.Part one is theoretical research. At the same time, the paper analysis the significance of folk sports tourism and principles including market-oriented, resource-based, development and protection as equally important, benefit the entire population and sustainable development.Part two is the development of folk sports tourism in Shandong Province. Based on various conditions, from the development of elements of folk sports tourism, the paper analysis resource of the folk sports tourism in Shandong Province at first. The author design folk sports tourism products for Shandong province applying the relevant principles of tourism product design, as well as, market research in Shandong Province.Part three is the protection conditions of folk sports tourism in Shandong Province. From the world's history and reality, the paper discussed the protect conditions of the folk sports tourism in Shandong Province about policy, funding, planning, cooperation and competition, publicity and so on.In the background of increasingly severe financial crisis, combination of the historical opportunity of Post-Olympic and Pre-National game, the theoretical studies conducted make up for the shortcomings of the current research of folk sports tourism, but also provide the necessary theoretical support for the development of folk sports tourism in Shandong Province.
