Research On Specialized Enterprises' Strategic Execution Systems (SES): Three-level Theory And Case

There are few theories on subjects of strategic execution stages and strategic execution systems (SES) in academic fields. What's more, most of the corporations couldn't successfully execute their strategies. In order to enrich our theoretical achievements on SES and to help our corporations improve the execution force and realize the continual development, our domestic scholars face a new challenge, that is: how to construct and implement our own theories on SES which will meet the current and future needs of our corporations by taking our national conditions into consideration and taking the foreign theories as the reference.This thesis is about how to construct, design and implement the solutions to SES from the three perspectives of framework, process and practice. First, from the basic framework of SES, it defines the fundamental conceptions and describes the integrated framework of SES: strategy-process-performance, which begins with strategy, goes through conceptions(including leadership and corporation culture), execution(including strategy plan, operation plan, financial budget, performance management, 'Every Day Clearance' project and control system), platform (including organization, process and human resources), and ends up with performance evaluation. As a simple sketch, this part also refers to a little about the operation of SES in corporations. Second, the key part, interprets the details of transformation between strategy and operation process based on SES and provides counterpart tools for every stage, to guide the systemic operation process. Third, case study or practice part, takes the case of VF Corporation as an example to explain the practice and reform performances of SES.The theory is derived from practice and has been evaluated by the practice in the past years, and its practical and theoretical value was, is and will be still valued in practice. This theory gets strategy and operation integrated, can be used as a reference for the management level to plan, organize, coordinate, control, evaluate the operation process and regulate the guideline, to improve the competence of the corporation.The research process can be summarized as three stages: subject selection, program design and practical evaluation. The research methods include documentation analysis, empirical analysis and normative analysis, emphasizing case study and our national conditions. The case selection is based on the domestic corporations and also refers to the international corporations in China. Therefore, this research is somewhat a fully integration of national and international practice and theories.
