In recent years, with the accelerated process of trade globalization, that there are great gaps about China's port capacity and the need in future. Port projects show a large-scale growth trend.Because Port projects are complex and currently constructions existing the blindness and non-rationality, domestic investment in port projects have more and more risk. Therefore, risk assessment of investment in port construction project is necessary and urgent. On the one hand, the port construction project itself has a large amount of investment, long construction period, and high technical risk, so, the port construction project risk assessment is necessary. On the other hand, the throughput of the port because of the current sharp increase in demand across the country showed significant port expansion and prosperity scenes, but there is a number of excessive and unreasonable constructions. The reason, first of all, because some investors are likely too optimistic; Secondly, Part of the port in order to seize an advantageous position, try to construct large container port, resulting in enormous competitive pressure; again, some of the port project planning and design lack practicality, so the building may not be able to put into operation to achieve the desired effects. The current situation of China's port construction project has increased the investment risk; therefore, the port projects should be fully taken into account of the impact of the factors. We should use the scientific method to evaluate and identify accurately in order to avoid blind investment, then, give risk management suggestion.
