Tacit Knowledge, as an important resource of corporation core competence, whose role and effect has got enough emphasis from the industry. As the market competition intensifies, many enterprises recognize that if they want to get and maintain its competitive advantage and maximize the usage of knowledge management, they must make use of the transfer of tacit knowledge properly.This paper gives a detailed study of the transfer of tacit knowledge, introduces its content and character and analyzes its relationship with the IT technology. In a way the real knowledge management needs to fully consider the communication, inspiration, share and transfer of the tacit knowledge. Knowledge transfer includes two basic sub processes: sending knowledge and receiving knowledge. Tacit knowledge transfer process can be divided into different four phases. The intrinsic nature of tacit knowledge will cause many obstacles in the transfer process. Costs will occur in the tacit knowledge transfer process which including transmission costs, acceptance cost and administration costs.A parameterized model of effective transfer of tacit knowledge has been set up in this paper and we analyze different aspects which will influence the transfer process. There are three aspects which will affect the effective transfer of tacit Knowledge: the main of the transfer, the transfer media and the situational factors. The enterprises need to adopt some promote strategies to finish an effective tacit knowledge transfer. The usage of information technology can speed up tacit Knowledge discovery and creates a synergistic environment for the exchange of tacit knowledge at the same time. The effective way of using information technology for knowledge management is building up a knowledge management platform which will provide a way for the reveal of tacit knowledge and thereby will establish the foundation of the fully transfer and sharing of the tacit knowledge. |
