Along with the increasing industrialization and urbanization of the rural areas in Vietnam, more and more concern has been put for the development of handicraft villages, therefore, relevant research seems to have great realistic significance. Based on the comprehensive case analysis of handicraft villages in the Red River Delta, this thesis puts forwards the author's rational cognition to the handicraft village's development, applying theories of Industrial Economics and Regional Economics. The author does well in combining theory with reality through systematic exposition of this problem. A number of researches focused on the development of handicraft villages, especially on the environmental pollution, have been conducted in Vietnam academic field. However, such researches are very rare in China. Scholars have been confused with a lot of restrictions on the development of handicraft villages, which will be demonstrated in this thesis. Meanwhile, the author will lay out a broad future of this development through expatiation upon corresponding solutions.
