Under the impact of global economy, knowledge economy and Internet economy, market supply and demand relationship has undergone tremendous changes. Personalized customer demand is increasing constantly; competition among enterprises is becoming more and more fierce; the uncertainty of market demand, to some extent, is also increasing. Facing with this rapidly changing and unpredictable market, only relying on a single resource to satisfy customer demand has become very tough. This change not only imposes much higher pressure on restructure of enterprises but also brings new challenges to the management of corporations.Retailing is, by its nature, a dynamic industry and could best reflect the rise and fall of an economy. Wal-Mart as the world's largest multinational retailer, is by far, the leader for world retailing and sets a successful model. Many people owe the success to its everyday low price strategy, as a matter of fact, low price and scale is only the results, the real key to success is the efficient supply chain management and excellent logistic distribution network that the retailing giant has established in the past decade. It is the supply chain management that improved its efficiency, lower its operation cost and achieve its zero stock; it is informatization system, perfect distribution channels that have made Wal-Mart a number one player in the market and the best choice for customers of the world. Therefore, Supply Chain Management is an innovative management mode and provides a solid basis for thorough transformation of traditional management to modern management.This article aims to introduce the modernized Supply Chain Management of Wal-Mart, analyze the current situation of our domestic retailing industry, so that some insight thoughts for domestic retail Supply Chain Management can be drawn. This paper consists of 6 parts. The first chapter comes with a brief introduction of Wal-Mart development history, its famous management strategies and its status in Chinese market. The second and third chapter goes into deep study on the success of Wal-Mart Supply Chain Management. Wal-Mart Supply Chain Management contributes a lot to its success. With the analysis of Wal-Mart's administration on customer, supplier, logistics, as well as information system, readers will know the secret of Wal-Mart's success and gain the basic idea to be applied on China's retailing. The following chapter takes the advantage of SWOT analysis to have a bird view of the difficulties Wal-Mart SCM has in Chinese localization. Chapter fifth introduces current status of China's retail SCM, summarizes the characteristics of China retail Supply Chain and its main management patterns. The last chapter prospects the future of China's retail SCM and posts some feasible suggestions for reference according to the inspirations we learned from Wal-Mart SCM and the special situation of our domestic market.
