Wal-Mart is a successful model of the retail companies in the supply chain. China's retail companies has long regarded it as the model to learn. Guomei, as the lead of China's household appliances, has many strengths, but its supply chain management still has lots of problems. Learning Wal-Mart's supply chain management is of great significance to the development of Guomei.This paper makes a study of the supply chain management of Wal-Mart and Guomei by using comparative analysis, case analysis and systematic analysis. It starts with the comparison of the present supply chain management of Wal-Mart and Guomei, and then summarizes the strengths of Wal-Mart's supply chain management and the weaknesses of Guomei's supply chain management. Finally it indicates the great distance between the two in the supply chain management and suggests learning of Wal-Mart.The success of Wal-Mart's supply chain management is due to customers' demand management, suppliers and their partners management, goods flow distribution management, the supply chain interactive information management based on Internet. The weaknesses of Guomei's supply chain management is due to the low loyalty of the customers, unharmonious relations with the suppliers, the poor supply chain information system, the weak logistics distribution. Guomei should learn Wal-Mart's following strong points in supply chain management: quick and effective customers' demand response system, the mutual benefit partner relationship with the supplies, the excellent goods flow distribution system.The paper concludes that with the advent of economic globalization, the supply chain management will play a more and more important role in the development of the companies, so Guomei must perfect its customers' information feedback system, satisfy customers' needs, improve the relationship with the suppliers, strengthen logistics distribution system, and perfect the electronic commercial application system. Only by this way, can Guomei develop smoothly in the future.
