Gome, a baby of Chinese economic transition, is the biggest appliances chain retailer. Gome, experiencing high-speed development, is in need of transition in supply chain management to maintain sustained growth. Therefore, the comparative study on Wal-Mart and Gome is of great theoretical and practical significance.On the base of theories of supply chain management, this essay will use systematical analysis, comparative analysis and case study methods to do deep research. First of all, the author introduces the present and the benefits resulting from Gome's supply chain management. Secondly, the author analyzes Wal-Mart's supply chain management and compares Gome's supply chain management with Wal-Mart's. Then, On the basis of pointing out their similarity and dissimilarity, the author made it clear Wal-Mart's advantages and Gome's weaknesses on supply chain management. Finally, the author offered us some measures on how Gome should learn from Wal-Mart to improve its supply chain management.The main conclusions of this essay are: Firstly, supply chain management is an effective managerial mode in an era of information economy.
