With the development of logistics industry and the improvement of living standard, people's consumption concepts tend to become more diverse and they are in favor of fast and convenient consumption, the demand for some fresh food such as fresh fruits, vegetables and milk is becoming higher and higher year by year. Minor batches, variety and high-preservation have been the main characteristics of dairy product cold chain logistics. This means higher requirements for cold chain logistics. But our cold chain logistics at present is with so many problems, such as so behindhand in both software and hardware equipments, with high working cost, incomplete in industry standard, so this makes hard to satisfy customers' demand. Fortunately, lean thinking take "eliminate wastes and reduce cost" as its core, this is exactly that we are looking for to solve the existing problems.The paper first summarizes the features and issues in food cold chain logistics, introduces the connotation of lean thinking and its development process and application. Then creatively introduces the lean thinking into cold chain logistics, and thinks we can use lean thinking to guide the development of food cold chain logistics. This paper indicates the core ideas for cold chain by analyzing its flowchart and value chain used in lean thinking; and studies how to apply this lean thinking into cold chain. Finally, the paper put out some measures and advices in order to accelerate the rapid progress for food cold chain logistics, and this also gives a study direction for further research.
