Nowadays nearly no enterprise can promote sustainable and long-term development only through enhancing the satisfaction of its employee, for their needs and expectations are under constant changes. It is the employee engagement that can directly make for the success of an enterprise. High employee engagement exerts the greatest influence on the performance indicator which is one of the major concerns of an enterprise. Therefore, only by avoiding brain drain and improving the employee engagement can an enterprise function and operate in an effective and sustainable way.Since Chongqing became the metropolis directly under the central government, its small-medium private enterprises have kept good development tendency. However, with the further development of market economy, it also widely arouses low employee engagement in these enterprises. This study will just throw some light on solving this problem with the aim of putting forward more and better suggestions to promote employee engagement for these enterprises'managers and motivate employees to finish tasks efficiently.To ensure this study will be developed in a scientific and practical way, firstly the author collects the exhaustive data and information of relative documents, summarizes and appraises internal and external engagement theory, demonstrates the difference between engagement and engagement spirit, satisfaction, and loyalty; afterward he goes to these enterprises involved to make interviews and make close questionnaire, which establishes a good base to analyze the present state of employee engagement in small-medium private enterprises of Chongqing and make scientific suggestion; then through classifying and analyzing these data and information synthetically, the author grasps and perceives objectively the present state of employee engagement in these enterprises and meanwhile makes an assessment on those main factors affecting the enhancement of employee engagement. Ultimately, on the basis of these data and results, the author puts forward some suggestions on promoting employee engagement to the managers of small-medium private enterprises of Chongqing. This article develops a research on employee engagement in a given area and a given type of enterprises, and breaks a micro view of study; therefore, it has certain innovative significance and to some extend provides a practical foundation for doing employee engagement research under the situation of west region.
