The construction of Competitive Intelligence System, which is an important component part in a modern enterprise management, has become a powerful trend in the world. After China became a member of WTO, the Chinese automotive industry, which is one of the national economic pillar industries, is facing unprecedented fierce market competition. How can Chinese auto works deal with challenges from worldwide competitors in the rapidly changing global market environment as good as possible, and even gain competitive advantage? Building and implementing its own characteristics Competitive Intelligence System has became the urgent need to be resolved. This thesis takes auto works as an example, and simulates the process of establishment and implementation of the Competitive Intelligence System. The main framework of the thesis is as follows.Chapter 1: IntroductionBased on the concepts of Competitive Intelligence and Competitive Intelligence System, this chapter discusses the function and significance of CIS for the modern enterprise management. It also introduces the actual development status of Enterprise Competitive Intelligence System at home and abroad. By comparison we can conclude the development deficiencies in our country's enterprises.Chapter 2: The necessity and feasibility of CIS building in auto worksThis chapter begins with Michael Porter's five competitive model to analyze competition state which China's auto works are facing at first. Secondly, it shows the internal information perplexity which lies in the auto works. Finally, from the aspects of industry background, internal and state of CIS construction in auto enterprises, it expounds auto works'demand for CIS, and designates the feasibility of CIS building in auto works from the technical, economic and cultural aspects.Chapter 3: The overall plan for CIS in auto worksThis chapter provides the overall plan for CIS in auto works.Firstly, it puts forward the principles and objectives in the course of building CIS. Secondly, presents the intelligence needs in auto works. Finally, after comparing the four common competitive intelligence system operation mode, combined with enterprises own characteristics and their needs of the intelligence, it brings forward the collaborative mode which is suitable for the auto works and the corresponding organizational structure.Chapter 4: The overall framework of CIS in auto worksAt first, this chapter laterally introduces the network structure of CIS in auto works, that is, organization network, information network and interpersonal networks. Secondly, vertically describes the CIS's (competitive intelligence collection subsystem, competitive intelligence analysis subsystem and competitive intelligence service subsystem) workflow. Finally, systematically explains the other related issues, including the information sources and channels, competitive intelligence analysis method and analytical tools and the service ways of competitive intelligence.Chapter 5: The Information platform of CIS in auto worksThis chapter points out that the CIS will be the new generation of information management systems in auto works. It expounds the system's platform structure and all its sub-module's function in detail. These mainly include: the CIS should be used browser / server(i.e. B/S) mode, J2EE technology and multi-storey structure to design and develop; the function of all sub-modules; the building of competitive intelligence knowledge base.Chapter 6: The implementation process of CIS in auto works This chapter analyses the existing competitive intelligence systems development methods, proposes that auto works should adopt joint development approach. The auto work chooses the right professional CIS software development company through inviting public bidding and establishes partnership relations with it. Then they can conduct competitive intelligence system software development and implementation. This chapter also provides a reference of the target system for the CIS software selection.Chapter 7: ConclusionThis chapter provides the conclusion of this article at first. In the research process of this article, I try to analyze and solve problems from the new perspective and ways of enterprises, and make innovation in the following several aspects:In the CIS operation mode, I put forward the collaborative mode which is suitable for auto works. Collaborative mode planning include: establishing of Competitive Intelligence Center which is the core of competitive intelligence agency; establishing of a harmonized operation mechanism of CIS; determining major competitors and launching the corresponding competitive intelligence projects, then promoting all its rivals on this basis. In the organizational structure, I propose that auto works'Information Technology Center is assigned to the Competitive Intelligence Center because the CIS is a part of management information systems. With the integration, network, intelligent development trend of CIS, it is bound to become the core of enterprise management information systems. As wireless technology continues to develop, wireless transmission rates and bandwidth continues to improve, I raise that the CIS software is embedded with the SMS platform. It enables enterprise CIS to provide users with more convenient, fast and personalized real-time services in information gathering systems, processes and service ways. It also provides technical support for employees extensively involving in intelligence work.In the process of auto works competitive intelligence software system selection, through the research and analysis of a number of competitive intelligence software at home and abroad I construct an index system for auto works information.Hope that this paper can play a certain role to the domestic auto works and related components supporting enterprises when they launching competitive intelligence business.
