On The Management System Of Island Resorts Based On GMS

Management problem is one of essential problems of tourism destinations. It's urgent to do research on the management of island resorts. Presently the related research is quite deficient, especially from the angle of enterprise management. Based on the management theory of "General Management System"(GMS), this paper makes a study on how to apply the core idea of GMS ("individual+system+innovation"), and puts forward the management system of island resorts in order to realize the effective management of island resorts and sustainable development of island resources.This paper contains 5 parts. Part 1 mainly elaborates the background and significance of this paper and analyses the development of modern management theories and management challenges that modern tourism industry faced with. It also points out the certainty and tendency of the innovation of resorts management. The research content and research technique of this paper are introduced as well.Part 2, Progress of related research. Firstly, the author comments on the island tourism research and management theories related to this paper and analyses the connotation of "management system". Then, the newest research on management system---"GMS" is presented, with the elaboration of its core idea and theoretical system followed.Part 3, Theoretical foundation: the"idea"and"system"of management system of island resorts based on GMS. Through feasibility analysis, the management innovation based on GMS can be implemented in tourism destinations. In the aspect of"idea", the author tends to analyse the driving forces of management innovation---"PECK", its specific ways and evolution directions, and puts forward the"Taiji Management Site"with Chinese characteristics in explanation of the intrinsic mechanism of management innovation in order to realize "localization" of GMS in tourism destinations. In the aspect of"system", seven systems applying to the management of island resorts are elaborated, with the purpose to put in into practice:"ideaâ†'systemâ†'method".Part 4, Practice research: the operation method of the management system baesd on GMS. Firstly, the author analyses the current situation and tendency of management innovation in the case of Putuoshan Island, pointing out the idea that the starting point of management innovation should be the specific ways of"PECK". Through these paths, the current"PECK"can be modulated measure for measure to achieve the situation of GMS. Meanwhile, these paths enclose the core idea of GMS ("individual+system+innovation"), and should be carried out on three aspects: management of individual, system, and innovation. This paper lays emphasis on the enterprise management, therefore, it should be emphasized to carry out capital asset conducting and substantiality management of Putuoshan Tourism Enterprises Group on the base of newly setting up tourism administration system.Part 5, Conclusion and prospect: summary of the main ideas and apocalypse of this paper. Some problems needing further discussion are raised.
