This thesis, basing on the researching development of community participation in tourism, defined the related concepts and the structure content, discussed its necessity and significance. Meanwhile, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, this research took Napa Lake nature reserve in Yunnan as a case to establish the mechanism by making a regression model, to dig into the connection willingness of community participation in tourism and perception of tourism impact, and to study the role and way of non-governmental organizations, local tourism companies, local government and community residents in community participation. The study found that non-governmental organizations focused on environmental protection, public works, education and tourism projects; local tourism companies acted mainly through cash compensation mechanism; local government used contracting system to attract enterprises involved and made co-management measures to encourage community residents to participate; community residents participated mostly for economic benefit, and their participating willingness was much higher than their action. Besides, the community residents had a strong positive perception on tourism's economic, political and social impact, and weak in negative impact.At last, this thesis proposes a detailed and available tourism community participation action recommendations for the community's management and development. |
