Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP)is an integrated computer-based system used to manage internal and external resources including tangible assets, financial resources and information. To implement ERP, businesses can automatically manage money, goods, human resources, information and so on and have a wide scope of commercial applications, such as manufacturing, supply chain management, human resource management, project management, financial management, customer service, marketing etc. It is vitally meaningful for enterprises to widely popularize the computer-assisted management, come out informationization and automaticalization, enhance work efficiency and improve responsive ability.At present, most of Chinese enterprises are in the growth stage. The basis of informationization is weak and the understanding about ERP is not enough while ERP in the limited time and involved many people from different departments and specialties needs to deal with heavy tasks and mass data. It is mostly decided whether the project successes that the temporary team from different interest organization, different business department, different background can accomplish so formidable task to build ERP under the same goal and the same way. From this perspective, the author thinks that building and managing ERP project team is the main factor to insure the task to be accomplished immediately and efficiently. So it is meaningful to make this research in order to improve team performance and implement ERP project efficiently. This will be helpful to improve management, reduce manufacture cost and increase benefit.The research methods include quantitative and qualitative analysis, information analysis, theory and practice analysis. This paper seeks the main factors to build and manage project team according to the practice of M petrochemical ERP project team, concludes how to manage these main factors and research how to systematically organize and build a project team. This paper stresses the procedure of building a team, human resource selection, performance management etc. And then the conclusion is made based on the actual case.In the analysis of human resource theory and practice of building and managing ERP project team, this paper offers a effective mode to build and manage the multi-department ERP project team to communicate with different departments, solve various conflicts, optimize resource and improve team performance. And the author hopes that this research will be helpful for enterprises to build a effective ERP project team.
