The Research On The Feasibility And Countermeasure Of The Development Of Electric Vehicle In China

In recent years, along with the crude oil price rising, the intensifying global environmental problems and the outbreak of worldwide economic crisis at the end of 2008 have not only given the auto market an unprecedented blow, but also the major automobile companies.Faced with these challenges, almost all major auto makers have stepped up efforts to research and develop new energy vehicles including electric car, at the same time, the governments also hope that through the development of new energy car industry to get rid of the economic crisis.With the advantages of low energy consumption and no environmental pollution, electric car industry becomes the common target of car enterprises and governments around the world. As the world's leading auto production and consumption countries and the world's second largest oil consumer, the development of the electric car industry has strategic significance in China. As there are four reasons.Firstly, the electric cars can reduce oil consumption, thereby reduce the increasing dependence on foreign energy and maintain the national energy security. Secondly, the electric cars can reduce or eliminate the emissions from vehicles, thereby reduce the urban atmospheric pollution, and protect the environment. Thirdly it can drive the development of related industries. In addition to the above three reasons, the development of electric cars in our country have a deeper meaning as our government and car enterprises all hope that through the development of electric vehicle industry in China our country can turn into an automobile power from a big country of auto.Here, with the method of SWOT analysis the paper draw the conclusion that it is China's strategic choice to develop the electric vehicle industry. Firstly, we study the necessity of the development of electric vehicle industry which includes four aspects as they are the competitiveness of China's automobile industry, national energy security, environmental protection and sustainable development of human society. From the four aspects we can know that it is necessary to develop the electric vehicle industry in China. Secondly we carry out an analysis of the sufficiency of the development of electric car industry in China which contains two major parts.One is the general environment which comprises economic environment, social environment, political and legal environment and technical environment. And the other is the competitive environment that includes factor endowments, consumers, suppliers, competitors and threats from traditional cars.Based on the two parts we reach a conclusion that it is feasible to develop the electric vehicle industry in China. From the above analysis, we reach the conclusion that industrialization of electric car is not only necessary but also feasible in China.In the end of this paper, through analyzing the present situations of the development of electric cars in China, we identify the existing problems in electric cars industry of our country. And then, by studying the experience of the industrialization of electric car in USA and Europe, the paper points out that he development of electric vehicle industry in China should pay attention to the problems and take some measures to avoid these kinds of problems happening again.In the last chapter, we look to the future of the development of electric car industry in China.
