| The geoparks are established to conserve the geoheritage for the primary purpose. As an important representation of the earth’s evolution, geoheritage is the main proof to restore the geological history, with great scientific research value. At present, with the rapid development of geoparks, study on the classification, evaluation, exploration and conservation of geoheritage has been comprehensively conducted, but research on the genesis of geoheritage is still in the initial stage. Study on contributing factors of geoheritage is an important part of resources study, also is the theoretical basis of the classification, evaluation, conservation and exploration of geoheritage resources. Further research on the geological origin of geoheritage will contribute a lot to improve the objective and scientific understanding of the value of geoheritage, and also will provide theoretical basis for the sustainable development of the geopark.Geoheritage of Mount Yimengshan Geopark could be divided into 7 categories. Taishan Group is a set of metamorphic supracrustal rock series formed in the Early Neoarchean mainly by metamorphism. Taishan Rock Series, formed in the Early Neoarchean, were derived from depleted mantle. The depleted mantle went through metasomatism, partial melting and crystallization differentiation and formed the Taishan Rock Series. Xinfushan Rock Series, formed in the Mid Neoarchean, is the production of the metamorphism and migmatization of the earlier intrusive rocks. Yishan Rock Series and Aolaishan Rock Series are formed in the Late Neoarchean. The former was formed by mantle magma intrusion mixed with crustal materials, and the latter was formed by anatexis at the upper part of the crust. The evolution and tectonic framework deduced from the Early Precambrian geoheritage are widely representative in China or even around the world. As a result, Luxi area has become a typical region to carry out and explore the mantle magma and continental crust’s evolution in the Archean and Proterozoic. Diamond was formed through the old mantle crystallization. As xenolith of kimberlite, it was carried by the kimberlite magma along the deep faults to the earth’s surface, forming a primary diamond deposit. Researching on the formation of diamond deposits and retrospecting of the mining history will have a profound impact on exploring and developing diamond industry in the nation and even the world.Based on types classification, features description, contributing factors analysis of the geoheritage, the paper analized the important role of the geoheritage with great scientific value and significance for the geopark construction. This is beneficial not only to the conservation and development of geoheritage, but also to the sustainable development of Mount Yimengshan Geopark. Thereby, the geopark will eventurally be constructed as a natural classroom for scientific research, teaching practice, science education, and a tourism attraction with beautiful environment, ecological balance, combined science with tourism. |
