Study On Geoheritage And Development Model In Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark,Liaoning

Liaoning Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark was approved by the ministry of Land and Resources in 2004.It is located in Chaoyang city,Liaoning Province.The geoheritage resources in the geopark have various types,well preserved,and widely distributed.Most of them are Early Cretaceous geoheritage sites with very high protection and development value including various fossils,fossil-bearing sections,geological structures and others.The "Jehol Biota" is of great scientific significance,especially the discoveries of first feathered dinosaur and the earliest-known angiosperm fossil,so the Geopark is credited as "the place of first bird taking off,and the first flower blooming".However,in the development process of the Geopark,several problems are existing: the lower market share,inadequate tourism infrastructure,simple marketing,single tourism products,poor local community involvement,low-level geopark's satisfaction.The local government and geopark administration are willing to build and develop the geopark,but they didn't know how to do it well.The Geopark management staff is lack of related knowledge of geotourism and tourism policies,so they don't have the ability to provide effective management and quality services for the Geopark.This doesn't benefit local residents to better participate in the Geopark development and construction.Therefore,this paper tries to link the Geopark development to local residents,so they can participate into the Geopark building and benefit from it.Based on the consideration above,this paper establishes a geopark community involvement tourism empowerment model(EPSPE)in terms of economy,psychology,society,politics and education,this model stresses the importance of community involvement.Finally,this paper proposes 2 development models for Chaoyang Geopark: geological science popularization tourism and ecological culture creation tourism.Starting from the decision making,geoheritage protection and pre-job training,it will set up a safeguard mechanism to ensure the local community involvement in the Geopark development.
