Technological Determinism And Social Constructivism Relationship Analysis

In the study of the relationship between technology and society, and academia are two main popular theory that technological determinism and social constructivism. Technological determinism seeds produced in the industrial development period, and social constructionism technological determinism arising among criticism. Foreign scholars in both theory has been debated for decades, in a talk past each other, critique each other’s state. Chinese scholars have support and opponents of the two theories that the two theories in opposition state who occupy the mainstream, while domestic scholars on the relationship between the two theories is not rich.Through a comparative analysis of the two theories, empirical analysis of apple products and dialectical analysis of the two theories, the two theories are unified.Based on the domestic and overseas research, the relationship and reason of two opposing theories was studied and compared with each other from four perspectives which are the macroscopic and microcosmic, independence and dependence, pointing the instead. Rationality and coexistence of two theories are demonstrated through the empirical analysis of influence of Apple’s tablet computer, formation of i Phone and the antenna gate thing. Finally, the paper puts forward two suggestions for practicing based on the analysis of i Phone through the dialectical relationship of the two theories.
