On The Conflict And Fusion Between Social Constructivism And Natural Realism

The debates between social construction theory and philosophical natural realism appear because of the cause of scientific knowledge. This paper studies the conflict and fusion between social construction theory and natural realism in science, technology and social theory(Science, Technology and Social, abbreviation STS).This paper is composed by five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, clearly put forward main problems between social constructionism and natural realism conflicts and fusion,around the academic debates of scientific realism and anti realism、the formation and development of social construction and debates between social constructionism and natural realism and facing the related literature at home and abroad for review and comment, research perspective and research methods of this article and research characteristic and innovation. The second chapter is based on the formation and development of "reality" concept of nature and realism, summarize the main ideas of the contemporary natural realism. Contemporary natural realism in recognition of the nature is real and objective basis, further arguing for the authenticity of the objectivity of scientific knowledge 、 the independence of scientific theory and the authenticity of scientific purpose. In the third chapter, in the study of social construction theory foundation of the rise and development of the main philosophy and environment and philosophy purport, analysis the main school of the theory of social construction.Reveal the social constructivism has symmetry instead of rationality, to discover and replace the logic of defense and to construct on the generation of realism and other main theoretical propositions. The fourth chapter, describing social construction theory and natural realism formed between the very complex conflict evolution picture, pointing out that there are three differences in between social constructionism and natural realism.These differences are the methodology 、 the production mode of scientific 、 the knowledge and so on. Explanation in the social construction of internal launched a heated academic debate around the concept of interest and the symmetry principle, lead to the rise of posthumanism research. Advocate STS research paradigm is based on practical hermeneutics constructivism, regression scientific practice, breaking the traditional subject object binary, emphasize the construction of the nature of scientific knowledge, to understand and explain the relationship between the nature and society in the scientific practice.
