The plants functional traits are connected between plants and environment, it can reflect the adaptability of plants to environment. It is important to understand the adaptation strategies of different species on the complex terrain conditions, and it plays an important role in plant photosynthesis, respiration and transpiration. In this paper, we studied the content of C, N, P in the soil of Long Ji Shan area, nine different dominated herbaceous plants and lianas living in this region, and related traits between different kind of leaves in order to judge nutrient limitation conditions and to reveal synergies trends between the relevant features of plant leaves of Long Ji Shan area. In this study, the following conclusions are obtained:1. In the survey, nine different dominated herbaceous plants and lianas were recorded. All plants existed in all micro-topographical units. Differences between the content of C, N, P in different species are caused by the biological characteristics of different plants.2. In the four kinds of microtopograph, including foot slope, sloping field, crest slope as well as valley head hollow, the contents of C N and P in soil has shown significant difference. Generally, the soil of foot slope and valley head hollow has high contents of C and N, which are in good nutritional conditions while crest slope is in poor nutritional conditions.3. The correlation between herbaceous plants and lianas plants has shown significant difference in microtopograph and the same plant traits have changed significantly in different terrain. After sorting, it shows that specific leaf area, SLA and leaf C N P contents at crest slop have a minimum value, while the maximum value at foot slope or valley head hollow. Leaves LDMC has a minimum value at valley head hollow and has a maximum value at sloping field or crest slope.4. In Long Ji Shan area, the content of C, N, P, in the nine different dominated herbaceous plants and lianas leaves showed a significant seasonal dynamics, and its seasonal dynamics trends are spring > summer > winter.5. Traits of plants are affected by various factors. The plants traits were n ot correlated with soil character, only a few traits were significantly correlated with the soil. The plants growing on foot slope have changes of soil properties which are significantly related to the changes of soil factors, while the plants on the valley head hollow have low correlation between traits and soil factors. The N and P content in plant leaves is significantly positively correlated with N content in soil, while plant specific leaf area, C/N, C/P and N/P are signifi cantly negatively correlated with N content in soil.
