With the rise of functional ecology,plant ecological strategies was paid more and more attention in ecology.In recent years,more and more researchers have analyzed the ecological strategies of plants in a certain area by functional traits,which explained the community assembly.In this study,we investigated 42 common woody species in C.kawakamii reserve,aimed to understand composition and variation of strategies,and tested consistency with community assembly,which provided theoretical basis for succession and ecosystem function.The results showed that:(1)Common woody plants in C.kawakamii reserve generally adopted the strategy of high resource acquisition.They always had medium leaf size,low leaf construction cost and high nutrient utilization efficiency.(2)Trade-off between return and investment contained carbon,nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium,calcium and magnesium content variation.As the specific leaf area increased,per area of investment decreased.By contrast,followed the specific leaf area decreased,leaf dry matter and carbon proportion in leaf dry matter increased,nitrogen,phosphorus,calcium,magnesium proportion decreased.(3)In C-S strategy axis,plants clustered around S strategy exhibited higher leaf dry matter content and carbon content per mass,plants clustered around C strategy exhibited higher potassium,calcium and magnesium content per mass,the nutrient limiting lighter.In addition,C strategy is significantly higher than S strategy only in leaf carbon content per area.(4)In S-R strategy axis,plants clustered around R strategy exhibited higher specific leaf area,lower carbon?nitrogen?phosphorus?potassium?magnesium content per area.But content of carbon,nitrogen,phosphorus in dry matter per gram did not significantly reduce,even investigated more calcium,magnesium.At the same time,the phosphorus limitation also lighter in R strategy plants.Plants near S strategy have opposite trait group.(5)In C-S strategy axis,plants by adjusting the content of phosphorus?potassium?calcium?magnesium,leaf nitrogen and phosphorus content ratio,?15N value and plant water use efficiency to adapt to the environment.In S-R strategy,more traits had being used,except doing in C-S strategy axis,content of carbon?nitrogen,leaf carbon and nitrogen content ratio had also be participated in trade-off.(6)The relative importance of 42 plants is negatively correlated with competitiveness(C)and positively correlated with stress tolerance(S),which implied habitat filtration effect enables species clustered S strategy may have greater survival opportunities.Although there are various economic tradeoffs among plants,plants which have slow return strategy will get more opportunities to survive.
