Researches On Geological Hazard And Control Program In China

China is a geological disaster vulnerable and most serious geological disasterstricken country. Nowadays, with the rapid economic development, the materialdamage and social insatiability caused by disaster keeps rising. Sufficient attentionshave been paid to defense, management and rescue of the disaster. Besides China,other nations in the world also put huge human and material resources into thedisaster mitigation.China has an extensive territory with various geological disasters. Thesedisasters are widely-distributed, frequently-occurred and seriously-damaged. Chinais still a developing country, restrained by economy and technical factors; it will takea relatively long time to mitigate every potential geological disaster within thecountry. In recent years, in addition to major strategic programs, the disastermitigation mainly relies on the regional research and mass prediction and prevention.For time being, these measures achieved remarkable results. This paper takes LuanXian as an example to study the disaster mitigation from the county level.Luan Xian is located in the North China Plain, under the administration ofTangshan City, Hebei Province; with the geographical advantages by neighboring thecapital city Beijing, Municipality Tianjin, and the tour city Qinhuangdao. There arerailways and roads cross the county connect with the cities mentioned above.Luanxian is also rich in mineral resources, especially for its vast reservation of ironore with the proven reservation of33tons, accounting for15%of the over allreservation of the nation. In addition to iron ore, Luanxian also has a considerablereservation of quartz rocks, quartz sands and granite. From the industrial level, Luanxian has already shaped a pattern leading by new type construction material,food processing and commodity packaging business. What’s more, Luanxian alsohas a scaled agro-pastoral economy which attracted lots investment; and aprosperous tourism industry. With the expansion of Two-way development, theeconomy in this area is soaring. However, the population growth and socialdevelopment urged people to utilize the environment in an unfriendly way. Theenvironmental problem and the perniciousness of the disaster are becomingincreasingly acute. The annual loss caused by geological disaster is over100millions, and became the restraining factor of the sustainable development of thearea. As for Luanxian, to carry out the research on risk prevention and control canpredict and mitigate the geological disaster from the county level, so that to securethe life and property. In this way, it can also achieve environment friendly results andmake contribution to the local economy development.
