Hu Jintao’s thought of independent innovation in science and technology playsan important part in the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.It’s the crystallization of collective wisdom of the contemporary Chinese Marxist andthe product of the development of Chinese society at a certain stage. This papermainly discusses domestic and international background of the formation of HuJintao’s thought of independent innovation in science and technology in the secondchapter. International competitiveness in today’s world is increasingly reflected in theindependent innovation of science and technology. Our country’s capacity forindependent innovation is insufficient, in this context, the independent innovation isimperative. Hu Jintao’s thought of independent innovation in science and technologyhas formed completely after experiencing early embryonic stage, developmental stageand formative stage.
