Street lighting system is not only an important public facility of the city but also a guarantee for urban residents who live a normal life. With the constantly social and technological development, the construction of street lighting has also become a symbol of an urban modernization. The traditional control and management of street lamp have been unable to meet the development needs of a modern city. Designing high degree of automation, reliable operation of the street lamp control system is an inevitable demand for modern cities.This paper mainly studies the control of street-based wireless communication network design, in this platform to build street-controlled communication system. Firstly it discusses the structure and problems faced in the existing street light control system, and then analyze more advanced technology of the current street light control area, and on this based it proposes the construction of a new private wireless networks and GPRS/GSM networks combined lamp control method. Then it describes the hardware development platform of the system, by AVR Mega168 as a microcontroller and RF transceiver as A7102A hardware architecture. In order to improve the efficiency of system development, rapid and effective development of communication protocol software, we use the Telelogic Tau software development environment based on SDL language. Then it discusses the principles of wireless communication network design, which is used the network-layer design idea. The network is divided into the physical layer, MAC layer, network layer and application layer. Finally it introduces details of the layers of the design principles, especially in the network topology and network communications on the proposed new approach, which is a better solution to the communication distance restriction of information transmission network and ensure the rapid convergence. Thus this network enables information to be fast, accurate and timely transmitted to all nodes.
