With the growing of business intelligence systems, the traditional data warehouse technology has not completely meet the needs of development. For example, systems need to integrate more and more heterogeneous information sources, which making the information integration module more complex. In traditional ETL process(Extraction-Transformation-Loading) of a business intelligence system, data processing is just messy conversion of the corresponding database field relations, is not conducive to system maintenance, expansion and reuse purpose. In addition, even two business intelligence systems in the same industry, their data warehouse structures may also have different data structure, and data sharing can not be achieved. The problems above severely limits the collaborative and openness of the business intelligence solutions. In this paper, due to the demand of heterogeneous data sources integration issue in Business Intelligent system, an ontology-based information integration middleware is designed, in which uses semantic description as a tool to map heterogeneous data sources to data warehouse, and applies Web ontology language (OWL) to represent the ontologies and the mapping rules. This middleware is designed and realized to resolve the problem of schematic heterogeneity and maintainability in traditional Extract, Transformation and Load (ETL) process.In this paper, for Wintec Business Intelligence System, we expand and improve its information integration module and specific work are as follows:1. Based on the original business intelligence systems, we improve information integration module, ontology engine has been designed.we the use ontology language to describe the data and relations in the system, vocabulary list has been established at the same time.2. Achieving business mapping at the semantic level, make the system stracture more intuitive, reducing human error while gathering data, at the same time be able to resist structural changes, making the existing business information to be reused.3. Through the Web Service technology to achieve operational ontology-based programming interface, as well as describing the data for the upper applications with OWL ontology language, in order to achieve a flexible system of collaboration and openness.This paper designed and implemented a simple ontology-based information integration system, the timely provision of technical services for enterprises and decision support to improve the enterprise's management and decision-making level. This paper described the implementation process of ontology-based information integration subsystem for Wintec Business Intelligence System, mainly including subsystems architecture and design innovations points. The principles of system design discussed and the key technology, operational processes has been elaborated.Finally, this article summarizes the work done on the information integration system, give a useful direction for future research to explore and prospect. Key technologies applied in the system are discussed.
