PurposeDevelope the three wavelength laser machine control interfaces and optical interfaces for the treatment of ocular fundus. The Control interface can communicate between the PC and the under device,.controling the laser output mode, conditioning power, and controling temperature. Optical interface can complete the laser transmission through the slit lamp microscope and the spot regulation. We can complete the overall prototype design with the help of other relevant studies so that the treatment is suitable for varieties of Ophthalmology deseases, which can be implemented to varies personalized treatment more easily.MethodThe Diode-pumped laser tri-wavelength laser Ocular therapy machine is composed of semiconductor laser module, laser module driver, IPC, Touch LCD, DC regulated power supply, control interface circuitry, optical slit lamp interface and software system. The system is based on red (650nm), yellow (561 nm), green (532nm) solid state light source. The circuit design interfaces is developed through hardware and software design and debugging. Laser module drive control interface circuit is the key part of the system. ADμC848 is the core processor, receiving control signal from the IPC, and sending current to the TEC, which controls the temperature of semiconductor module. The control interface circuit provide laser diode (LD) current required, at the same time, monitor the key laser parameters of the whole work, such as the actual temperature signal, the actual laser tube current signal and voltage signal, to ensure normal operation of lasers. The control interface circuit provide laser protection and alarm when abnormal condition accured. The control interface design includes the drive current output circuit, automatic power control circuit, automatic temperature control circuit, a serial interface circuit and the corresponding driver software. The package of zoom imaging system on treatment of retinopathy is designed on the CODE V platform as the System optical interface, which is capable of efficient fiber coupling, and optical transmission. The system fits the contact lens and ophthalmic slit lamp microscopy quite well.ConsultsThe control interface and optical interface is designed, capable of single and multi-output. The indicating light and laser output is normal and high efficiency. The main features are:output channel selection, output power adjustment, output time adjustment, the laser switches and medical records database. Users can either select a single channel 650nm,561nm,532nm. You can also choose multi-channel simultaneous output. Complete the laser module drive circuit controlled by the SCM, which can adjust the output current continuously, adjust the output current feedback, and TEC cooling. Complete the Diode-pumped laser software system, suitable for clinical applications, which achieved the human-computer interaction quite well. The output laser transmit through optical fibers accurately, the output attenuation is small, and get to the focus through the slit lamp accurately.ConclusionThe intelligent retinal laser surgery system using Multi-wavelength Diode-pumped' laser can be used for ocular fundus of the animal experiments in different working modes. The output power is continuous, stable and meets the design requirements. Diode-pumped laser is small and powerful, and can complete multiple founctions instead of many devices, making eye laser surgery more convenient without repeatedly replacement of laser equipment. The system provides the basis for integration of laser medical equipment and ophthalmic slit lamp.
