Dual-wavelength lasers have become an international hot topic recent years. Itis used extensively in interference rainbow holograph, fine laser spectrum, differentialabsorption lidar, nonlinear frequency conversion, laser medicine and so on. Solid statedual wavelength lasers are more important because it is compact and miniaturization,which can provide high output power and the bands which it cover is more important.The all solid state lasers which can emit dual wavelengths simultaneously have greatpotential application in high brightness laser multicolor display, laser multicolor printand other equipments and entertainments by frequency transform. The paper mainlystudied Nd:YVO4 crystal and Nd:GdVO4 crystal, and made theoretic and experimentalresearch about the dual wavelength oscillation performance. The main contents of thepaper are listed as follows:1. Reviewed the history and development of all solid state lasers; introduced thelaser crystals suitable for LD end pumped and their main performances; thengeneralized the research situation of dual wavelength lasers and the main researchcontents of the paper.2. The characters of the single wavelength DPL was studied by experiment in thesecond chapter. The photograph match of the negative dual-axis crystal was researched,and the double frequency and sum frequency angle of KTP crystal at 1064nm and1342nm was studied.3. Based on the dual wavelength rate equation, taking account of the thermaleffect, and selecting Nd:YVO4 and Nd:GdVO4 as the gain media , the dual wavelengthcontinuous lasers are studied theoretically and experimentally. Stable dual-wavelengthcontinuous output was achieved in experiment. With the three–mirror laser cavity andNd:YVO4 , the incident power of 8.02W, the continuous wave (cw) output power of1342nm was achieved at 0.953W and the slope efficiency was 12%;while the outputpower of 1064nm was 1.116W and the slope efficiency was 15%.
