China has the world's biggest GSM network, and its user base, as well as the good user loyalty still exists.GSM network still has lots of advantages, and in the 5 to 10 years, GSM network will also continue to develop.Until now, the number of GSM mobile users is still growing, user's demand for mobile communication business has gradually increased, not only for GSM voice services, but also for GPRS and EDGE data traffic demand has increased significantly.Therefore, GSM/GPRS network is limited by the capacity of more serious conditions. The number of mobile communication user increases,resulting in the increasing availability of radio frequency that has appears inadequate. In order to reasonably make use of radio frequency resources, we need to find an effective way to distribute channels for each cell efficiently.Reasonable and effective channel configuration is based on an accurate business forecasts.In fact, most of the mobile communication companies do the traffic forecasts based on experience to conduct a rough estimate, and the decide whether to expand the network capacity based on the estimation. This estimation may cause large amount of network redundancy or network capacity is not enough. Inaccurate prediction of the volume of business would bring negative impact to carriers on the planning and operations, and how to find an accurate prediction method of traffic and data traffic for operators is a key issue.So, to carry out traffic and data traffic prediction can improve the radio resource utilization and can reduce costs.This paper starts from these issues,through the existing mobile communication traffic forecasting and channel allocation algorithm for comparative analysis and research, presented an optimized algorithm and implements a GSM/GPRS/EDGE traffic forecasting and channel configuration system that can do network optimization to meet daily needs.Main contents of this article are as follows:1.The GSM/GPRS/EDGE network status are studied.2.On the base of the theory above, studies the GSM/GPRS/EDGE traffic forecasting and channel configuration.3.Studies and proposes an optimized traffic forecasting and channel configuration.4.Under the guidance of the optimization method, detailed design and implement a GSM/GPRS/EDGE traffic forecasting and channel configuration system.5.In the article, the performance of the GSM/GPRS/EDGE traffic forecasting and channel configuration is analyzed in detail. |
