In the field of wireless communication, the signal coverage is still a problem worthy ofstudy in the2G and2.75G system. Although with the development of wireless networks andpopularity of mobile phones, the wireless network can cover most region of the world,However, In the actual system deployment, It can be found that these quality of signal can’tmeet the users’ demand under some special place (High building, Indoor, Basement etc), thisproblem is also the key points for operators to improve user perception, and expand themarket share. Secondly, with the pace of the integration of three networks forward, Operatorsare eager to solve the problem that the access device high input costs, and difficult to maintainby IP-based access network.The family base station can provide coverage the area that can’t cover by BSC in use, andlower the consumption of power, It provides an ideal solution for integration of fixed andmobile network. In this paper, we will explore the technical architecture of Femto base stationstructure, and the upper access unit realization in this base station structure, and propose aratio resource allocation algorithm in GPRS/EDGE access network in the Femtocell, we willsimulation and analysis the allocation strategies functionality and performance.The main content of this paper as fallow:(1)The research of distribution of Femtocell, As well as several outstanding issues in thisarchitecture;(2)The general method of channel Allocation strategy, and evaluation criteria for channelallocation strategy;(3)The basic knowledge in GPRS wireless communication system, including structure offrame, the relation between of logic channel and physical channel and the connection oflogical link layer peer entities, I will introduce the basic concepts of EDGE system here,comparing to GPRS system;(4)The realization of the packet service access for small coverage base station, wepropose a channel assignment algorithm method, and detail the process of allocation strategyin text description to flow char form;(5)The simulation of the channel allocation scheme in the real system of Femtocell, weprove that the scheme can work and have good performance.In this paper, a advanced research and analysis to the Femto architecture of networkstructure is propose, it has certain practical significance to the flat network with IP-base andintegration of three networks, we accumulated the understanding about ratio resource management in3GPP protocol in practical, it has a very good reference to the realization ofthe ratio resource management module in real project. In the radio channel allocationalgorithm, a simple and practical channel allocation strategy with clear process, It has beenused in practical project. Due to the limited capacity, some scenes is not involved in this paper,and need to constantly improve in practical application.
