With the current global economic crisis, how to tighten belts has been many companies'most important thing, therefore, reducing IT deployment costs will become preferred target of enterprises after economic contraction, however, followed almost immediately by "how not to affect employees' working efficiency and initiative". Therefore, maturing virtualization comes to the fore. The article's main work is to research and improve Xen-based front-end virtual NIC, in the context of NIC performance, power management and system stability, based on analyzing the Xen network and open-source project XenWindowsGplPv.The following is main results in this thesis:1. Introduce current virtualization's implementation principle, and each advantage and disadvantage.Introduce a para-virtualization open-source project Xen.2. Analyze Xen network structure and virtual NIC dirver in the open-source project XenWindowsGplPv.3. Improve the NIC performance in the area of interrupt handling, share page and dispatchers of receiving and sending packets; improve power management in the contexts of suspend, sleep and resume; improve system stability from WHQL test and solving system blue screen, system halt and interrupt handling.
