Network management interface technology is applied widely in various fields, and the quality requirements of network management interface is improved, so the network management interface testing become more and more important. The network management interface testing includes information model testing, functional testing, and performance testing. However, the focus of current research and network management interface testing tools is mostly information model and functional testing, performance testing requirements are often ignored, it is necessary to strengthen the research methods and testing tools in performance testing for network management interface. Under the load pressure generated by users, performance testing can not only test the accuracy, the efficiency and the stability of network management interface, but also test the running of tested system under different circumstances by simulating different environments in different scenarios to improve the authenticity of simulation testingThis paper analyzes the requirements of network management interface performance testing, researches the performance testing methods, contents and general steps, designs distributed agent-based network management interface performance testing framework and process, and then implements the performance testing of network management interface. Most importantly, scenario model, Manager/ Agent interaction model of the performance testing framework is the focus of this paper. By designing the scenario model basing scenario function, behavior of virtual users is simulated and it becomes possible to set different operation modes for different virtual users, which achieves the diversity and authenticity of testing environments. In addition, one-way interaction controlling model of Manager/Agent is used to improve the flexibility of manager controlling agents and all distributed agents implement load balance. The model uses polling allocation strategy to implement the interaction between manager and agents. Finally, the paper not only achieves the common module of distributed agent-based performance testing framework, but also implements performance testing of one of network management interface technology—Web Service, which verifies effectively the design of the framework and methods of performance testing for network management interface.
