With the development of modern industry as well as scientific and technological progress, industrial equipments are developing toward large-scale, continuative, high-speed and automated direction, so the safe running of equipments is put forward higher and higher demands. Equipment condition monitoring technology has drawn more and more importance, and plays an important role in ensuring the equipment, staff safety and reducing unnecessary losses so on. By using the wireless sensor networks for industrial equipment monitoring, not only give full play to the unique advantages of wireless sensor networks in the industrial field, but also can real-time reflect running status change and trend of industrial equipments in the background monitoring interface. Thus can greatly reduce or eliminate unexpected equipment failures. Therefore, the paper proposes the research of the monitoring platform for industrial equipment conditions based on WSN (wireless sensor networks) and it is great significance.Aim at pressurized water reactor power plant (PWR) of Sino-Canadian cooperation research project, this paper researches and develops monitoring platform of equipment running status. It conducts a detailed needs analysis for the entire system firstly, then builds wireless network platform and background monitoring platform of nuclear power plant equipment monitoring, finally completes hardware and software designs of the system.Hardware design and implementation of wireless sensor network node includes the selection and peripheral circuit design of chips, interface circuit design, the selection and circuit implementation of sensors as well as the design of power module, the same time, the working principle and communication protocol of wireless sensor network node are given.Background monitoring platform that is developed under the LabVIEW is virtual instrumentation monitoring system. Functions of this system include data acquisition, real-time and historical data display, data storage, creating data report, alarm, login interface and user interface design so on, as well as this monitoring system is simple structure, easy to carry and with more functions, furthermore it is easy to customize, being have friendly interface and short development cycle that fully shows the advantages of the LabVIEW.Aim at the monitoring system, the paper presents a status monitoring instance of the motor. It processes temperature and vibration signals that are acquired of the motor by time domain analysis and frequency domain analysis. To verify the applicability and feasibility ofthis set of monitoring system, first of all, analyze the feasibility of meeting time domain monitoring standards by time domain analysis. Then verify the feasibility that meet monitoring standards of vibration signal by frequency domain analysis. Finally, reach the result that the state of equipment operation is good or bad, which effectively guarantees instantaneity and accuracy of equipment status monitoring.The monitoring system is simple, easy to use, and having friendly man-machine interfaces so on. It has comprehensive universality in the industry, medical treatment, and petrochemical so on, and has broad applicable prospects.
