The protection of quality of water has become a great subject in the whole world, and at present, water quality monitoring technology of our country can not meet the needs of satisfied water quality monitoring. Be against the water quality monitoring present situation of our country, in order more effectively to realize the monitoring to the pollution source, a kind of Lab VIEW based on-line monitoring system of water quality has been designed in this paper.A new measuring equipment represented by virtual instrument has changed the idea of traditional equipment, it is a new measuring technology that combines the technologies of electronic measuring, technologies of computer, technologies of network. With the development of computer technologies, virtual instrument technology is widely used in measurement and automation, and it becomes an important respect of measure and control nowadays. The application of virtual instrument technique can satisfy the need of sharing hardware with software resources, by making use of the strong function of computer, it can carry out data processing and saving, signal analysis, filtering, displaying in graphical mode and so on. And it is prevalent to design and implement virtual instrument of measurement and automation system by using LabVIEW software platform.This paper based on the design idea of virtual instrument and the design approach of function modularization, using computer, some kinds of sensors and data acquisition card as hardware system, developed a monitoring instrument which has excellent ability of human-computer interaction, and has function of data acquisition, filtering, analysis, real-time video monitoring and data management. Firstly, the paper introduces development of current measuring technology, the concept, structure and characteristic of virtual instrument and powerful functions of LabVIEW software. Secondly, it describes the structure and accomplishing methods of system hardware, it includes sensors, data acquisition card and the design of signal conditioning circuit. At last, the paper introduces the software design program which includes accomplishment of the software frame, program flow and every function module in detail. Innovation of on-line monitoring system of industrial sewage quality lies in achieving the automatic collecting, wireless transmission, recording, controlling and management of water quality parameters, has the function of long-term online operation, predictive analysis and previous data management. The system has such advantages as high stability, friendly operating interface, high degree of automation and high cost performance, and completed the unifying idea of industrial sewage quality monitoring, management and controlling.
