Virtual instruments are the combination of computer technology and equipment, representing the modern development direction of testing techniques and instrumentation technology. The network virtual instrument is a hot field of measurement and control technology research,which is constituted of computer network technology and virtual instrument technology. Temperature is an important industrial inspection parameter and it is an important trends to use the distributed multi-channel temperature measurement to detect large-scale equipment. The virtual instrument technology has an important application value on multi-channel temperature measuremen under the complex industrial temperature test conditions .Based on the LabVIEW software development platform, this paper has designed a multi-channel temperature test system for network based on virtual instrument, and had the experimental research and application according to the actual needs of industrial .This work mainly includes the following four aspects:(1) the overall program is designed according to Functional requirements of the system.It has designed the structure of the overall system,including multi-temperature test system design, network virtual instrument module design and implementation of network design process.(2) The hadware design of the system is completed. The paper has selected the temperature sensor and the data acquisition card of the system, carried out a selection and designed the forty-channel temperature conditioning circuit according to the actual needs ,and developed the signal conditioning card .the nonlinear characteristics of the temperature acquisition system are analyzed, acquisition channel number of the test system can be extended by adding external hardware.(3) The software of the system is designed and programmed by using the LabVIEW software development platform. the design of the system software function is carried out based on the modular thought. the network functional design is accomplished and the client and the server programs are developed. The networking programs are compiled with the DataSocket technology, It has realized the non-mistake network service in the LAN. With the virtual instrument technology such as data acquisition technology (DAQ),database technology (LabSQL), the software of the multi-channel temperature testing system is completed, including multi-channel temperature data acquisition procedure,digital filtering procedure,temperature demarcation conversion procedure and temperature compensation procedure and other software modules.(4) The paper has built the virtual instrument of multi-channel temperature testing system network experimental platform .The factors which affect the test system accuracy are analyzed, the error has been corrected by effective methods to improve the accuracy of the test. Compared with other temperature measurement, the system has the good accuracy. The system software is applied on a large motor condition monitoring and the operation is stable and reliable.The paper has completed the design and development work of multi-channel temperature testing system based on virtual instrument.The system has many advantages, such as low cost, easy maintained and upgraded , it has practical value in engineering.
