Crisis early warning is an important part of crisis management and the object of Crisis communication research as well. In the face of the reality of the arrival of high-risk society, Crisis monitoring and prevention ideas are increasingly to be taken seriously. At the same time, the high hopes are given in environmental monitoring and watch features of mass media. In this paper, the crisis early-warning functions are discussed at first. The main point is about that the media crisis warning in the media-oriented society is not only the practical needs, but also already is a real possibility by the support of modern technological means. On the following,this article put forward the central theme which are the difficulties encountered with mass media in crisis early warning and how to improve the crisis early warning news reports to meet the social requirements.In discussing the reasons of mass media plight, the author is mainly from the perspective of risk construction. In accordance with the perspective of risk construction, the risk is actually virtual and the kind of man-made product at some digree, which reflects the compromise among a variety of forces and interests. So logically, We can aiso find that the plight of the early crisis warning is essentially caused by the interaction of various media forces.Based on this kind of analysis framework, this article concludes with a number of countermeasures to improve crisis early warning function of the mass media. At the macro level a public journalism with broad public involvement should be established as a guide to the news system. On the same time, the traditional reporting practices and dissemination of ideas should be changed at the micro level.
