The Research And Realization Of The Key Technology For Local Area Network Monitor And Control System

With the development of computer technology, network is becoming an integral part of people’s life. Everyone’s daily life begins to be closely linked with it, and the network applications plays an more and more important role about that. People can use different network applications to meet their different needs:instant messaging, information access, network help, watch videos, business negotiations, and so on. Associated with that, local area network has started to become an important part of the entire network. For the local area network like schools or enterprises, building a convenient and secure network for their unique needs is becoming more important. However, to keep the local area network security has become increasingly complex. The emergence of a growing number of network applications, the installation of different network hardware devices, as well as the network’s virus, Trojan horse, will make the management of the entire local area network harder and harder. Therefore, to build a comprehensive, high reliability monitoring and management system local area network is more essential now.This thesis aims to solve those problems of the local area network. This thesis focus on the research and realization of the key technology for Local Area Network monitor and control system, the main contents of the study consist of two parts, network application identification methods of the system; the algorithm to find the topology of the Local Area Network.This thesis firstly introduces the background of the study, then the LAN’s structures and the basic conditions, are introduced in the thesis. Then, based on these studies, it describes the author’s participation in a commercial local area network monitoring and management system. The description focuses on the function of the system, system architecture, and the realization of it. The following chapters study several modules of the monitoring and management system. The first part is the study of network traffic identification detection module. This part is mainly about the network traffic detection and network application identification. Then the thesis discusses the management based on SNMP, it tells the SNMP, and the process of building a topology of a LAN based on SNMP. Then the author tells the new algorithm to find the topology of the LAN.
