As the core part of storage test, mini-recorder has been widely used. Currently, storage test system has been used in the explosion field for shock wave test. The communication between the storage test system with other test components, wireless communication control components, and the host become more complex, this makes new demands on the recorder: multi-frequency sampling, variable trigger threshold, large amounts of data storage, data quick reading and more flexible communication interfaces and so on. With the rapid development in IT such as ultra-large-scale digital integrated circuit technology and computer technology, the recorder is currently moving in the direction of intelligence, miniaturization and low-power.Based on the new requirements and trends above, considering the index of underwater shock wave data recording system project, the paper designs a record system based on CPLD and MCU. The system takes PIC16F877A microcontroller and complex programmable logic devices (CPLD) as its core controller. It has eight kinds of sampling frequency, which divided into four groups. It can work in each group in a single test, whether in frequency-change sampling or one frequency. Trigger value and storage length can be set according to the sample frequency. A dual communication interface with USB and SPI is designed to make the system more scalable. During single test, the system can flexibly set parameters and effectively record data with the special requirement of the present environment and the tested signal. In field tests, the recorders can realize the distribution of the multipoint and the work in different parameters for getting enough information in the field. With real-time performance and good stability, the recording system has met the user's requirements and put into use.On this basis, although this system composed of discrete components has some advantages (such as simple composition, low cost and so on), it is difficult to meet the need of large-scale data computing. This paper proposes and designs a DSP-based system of record. In the realization of the basic functions of the record system, the use of C programming language makes the exploitation of recording system simple and easy to transplant. The research of application for the DSP record system will makes the system more intelligent and more miniaturization. The research will make preparation for system upgrade.
