Virtual reality and computer simulation technology is currently the most widespread computer application of practical technology. With the two kinds of technology development, they penetrate into all areas and bring great convenience for product design and display. The intuitive features of simulation technology also provide a very useful and effective communication platform for professionals and non-professionals.This paper is based on the Provincial Communications Department "ultra-small underwater robots (Remotely-Operated Vehicle, called ROV) Survey Water Transport Engineering Research and implementation of key technologies" research projects, and we take the robot's motion and object tracking process as the research content and design a desktop VR simulation system. It realizes the robot's motion simulation and part scene of the ocean digitizing and other functions. The main research work includes some aspects as follows:1,Study the status of the development and application of the VR technology existing. Combined with the author's research, the purpose and significance of research work and the main work are also pointed out.2,Research and implement the technology that extracts original marine geographic information database from electronic marine chart. By Using database technology, achieve the classification and storage of original data of geographical elements, complete data format conversion of ocean elevation data. By regularly cutting topographic three-dimensional model , research and implement the management of large-scale topographic database3,On the basis of learning the real time simulation software Creator, the models are established including the ROV, ship, trees, fish and so on. And some display optimization technologies are analyzed while modeling, such as visibility determinant, level of detail, texture mapping and instance.4,Using real-time three-dimensional visual scene driver software manual Vega achieved roaming, and manual roaming in the intersection point of view of the control vector and analyzed in detail, gives the driver three-dimensional scene the main flow through the VC + + and Vega's API mixed program, implemented in the PC, the robot motion simulation and real-time roaming, special effects such as visual simulation display function.5,Through the socket network communication function, establish the communication between robot virtual simulation and motion capture and transport the robot's movement information. The system simulation shows that the scene simulation built in this paper satisfies the real-time requirement of the system. It has brought convenience for the control debug and achieved the interaction between the user and the visual scene.
