Virtual Reality Cooperated Simulation Modeling And Its Application

This paper reviews the traditional methods of Simulation Modeling(SM) , then points out the lacks among them and presents some new improving measures against those lacks. It studies the mechanism about the SM system based on the web and distributed SM in network. Designing and developing a new SM System based on Java, named SimVR, the System has the ability of Virtual Reality (VR) Simulation Modeling. The paper studies the functions and requirements of SM System. It presents a new type of system framework that is composed by three basic sections, which ensures the convenient and flexibility of SM. Based on the kind of system framework, functions of SimVRNet are described which includes SM ability of VR and cooperative work(CW). The software system VRNet with VR and the CW has been designed and developed. The paper discusses the application of VR technique in the fields of simulation, especially the enterprises production and management. On the base of joining the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML), Java and the web technique together, it studies the new methods of VR modeling in network. This paper Designs and develops the working environment VRNet based on the web for the VR & CW in network. Sequentially, the technique methods and the developing plan are studied and designed, which makes the simulation engine of SimVR and VRNet joint together. Some typical simulation applications (M/M/1,M/M/2,…) are designed and developed using SimVR, which validate and improve SimVR simultaneously. The issue of GUI of SM integrated environment is discussed in the appendix.
